Had to be done! The purpose of this theme is to make you confused about where deviantART ends and your OS begins, every element in the theme is an adaptation of a similar(ish) element on the website, for instance the modal dialogs are modelled on art submission modal dialogs and all buttons are dA buttons. Suggestions on how to make everyone more confused are very welcome!
For best effect you need to add the ttf-mscorefonts package as the deviantART website (and so the theme) relies on MS fonts Verdana and Trebuchet. If you don't have these fonts installed a fallback font will be used instead and it won't look as deviantARTy (then again, neither does the website in your browser, so maybe you won't notice).
In Ubuntu/Mint: sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
In fedora: Get the excellent Fedora Utils ([link]) which includes an option to install mscorefonts.
SADLY Gnome 3.6 doesn't, like the previous versions, support extension styling within a custom theme, so all your extensions are gonna look weird. Complaints can be directed at Gnome HQ
Made with awesome free software: - Geany - Meld - Inkscape - Gimp
Credits: - satya164 (favourite internet person) for crucial troubleshooting. - lassekongo83 whose well structured and constantly updated Zukitwo theme formed the basis of this theme. - Faenza icons by tiheum
Changelog: Oct-12-2012: Gnome 3.6 support Jul-13-2012: For some reason I based the app filter on the watchers list in profiles and not on the category browse tree - it now shares style with the category tree. Also improved look of focused overview icons.
Thanks for the DD Theme update coming later this week!
And ahh, also, kudo's on the freeware~ Don't you just love open sources? I myself am an avid fan of Linux/Ubuntu and use Inkscape/GIMP. Don't get me wrong, I've used Photoshop and PaintTool SAI in the past, but to someone on a low budget yet with good computer skills and ability to manipulate your computer to make it run whatever programs you want, Linux is the way to go. Kudos. And great job on the design, once again!~
What?! I love this! Ahhhh! This is amazing, and confuses the absolute heck out of me. Amazing work, I have to applaud you~ And this is perfect, I have Ubuntu with Gnome. c:
i dont use linux / gnome shell ( mainly cuz i dont know how to set it up, maybe i should google a little) but this is amazing, it looks crisp and clean, rly smooth at the same time too. awesome job!
